Privacy

This covers everything on hellisnotfull.com, run by Hell Is Not Full. Questions, or anything you’d like changed or removed: support@hellisnotfull.com.

The short version

  • We keep as little as we can, only to run what you asked for.
  • No advertising, no tracking across other sites, and we never sell or share your details. We count visits with our own analytics tool, which sets no cookies.
  • Anything you sign up for can be deleted, straight from our emails or by asking.

Just visiting

Browsing the site sets no cookies. Our pages, fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third parties. Like any web host, Hostinger, who hosts the site on servers in the USA, keeps short-lived access logs that include IP addresses.

We count visits with Umami, an analytics tool we run on our own server. It records which public pages are viewed and from which site you arrived, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and your approximate location (country, region and city). On our games it also records events such as starting a level or joining a live round. It sets no cookies and can’t follow you to other sites. Your IP address is used only to work out the location and is never stored. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is recorded. We don’t use it on client pages behind an access code or on free overlay links. Records are deleted after 13 months.

Client deliveries (/pals/)

Work made for a client lives in a private folder behind an access code.

  • Entering the code sets one cookie for that folder only, holding a signature rather than the code itself. It lasts 90 days, is needed for the page to open, and “Log out” removes it.
  • A delivery page may remember the settings you choose in its setup tool in your own browser (local storage). They never reach us.
  • A live preview may read a Twitch channel’s chat anonymously and show its emotes, straight from Twitch, as any chat overlay does.

Free Nonna Pals (/free/)

When you sign up for a free overlay we keep:

  • Your email address and Twitch channel name.
  • When you signed up, confirmed your email and verified your channel.
  • How many times your overlay has loaded and when it was last running, so we know which overlays are in use.
  • Whether you want news emails.
  • A scrambled (keyed hash) form of the IP address you signed up from, only to stop signup floods. It is deleted after a day.

Each time a signup moves a step forward, we send ourselves a short notice with just the Twitch channel name, so we know someone’s signing up.

Your overlay address is stored only in scrambled form, so we can’t read it back either. An unconfirmed signup is deleted automatically after 2 days; everything else is kept until you delete it.

We don’t keep chat: your overlay reads your chat directly from Twitch inside your own streaming software, and messages never reach our server. Nor anything about your viewers: each pal is worked out from a viewer’s username on your computer, and your browser source remembers who’s on screen in its own local storage.

We use your email to run the overlay: to confirm it’s you, send your overlay link and tell you about anything that affects it. Now and then we may also email you about new Nonna Pals (new pals, packs and features, never anyone else’s products). You can say no when you sign up, and every email has a one-click link to stop them and another to delete your signup, which also switches your overlay off.

Contact forms (/contact/ and /free/)

When you send us a message with one of our contact forms, it comes to us as an email at contact@hellisnotfull.com, sent through Purelymail, and is kept in our helpdesk like any other email. It carries what you typed: your name if you gave one, your email address, the topic you picked, your Twitch channel if you gave one, and your message. We use them only to reply to you.

The form itself keeps nothing on our server except a scrambled (keyed hash) form of your IP address, only to stop message floods. It is deleted after a day.

Woodgrain live rounds (/woodgrain/)

Woodgrain is a puzzle game. Its practice modes keep your progress in your own browser (local storage). If you’ve chosen a name or linked another device on your player (below), your level, best scores and settings are also kept with your player. Until then they stay in your browser only.

If you join a live round, we keep the name you type, your scores in that round, and a random ID your browser makes so that name stays yours for the round. Your name and score are shown publicly on the leaderboard, including on stream. We don’t ask for an email address, an account or a Twitch login.

Round results are kept so we can show and settle them. To have your name taken off a round, email support@hellisnotfull.com with the name and roughly when you played.

Unwind live rounds (/unwind/)

Unwind is a puzzle game. Its levels keep your progress in your own browser (local storage). If you’ve chosen a name or linked another device on your player (below), your level and sound setting are also kept with your player. Until then they stay in your browser only.

If you join a live round, we keep the name you type, how many arrows you cleared and how long you took on each try in that round, and a random ID your browser makes so that name stays yours for the round. Your name and result are shown publicly on the leaderboard, including on stream. We don’t ask for an email address, an account or a Twitch login.

Round results are kept so we can show and settle them. To have your name taken off a round, email support@hellisnotfull.com with the name and roughly when you played.

Sorted (/sorted/)

Sorted is a puzzle game. It keeps your progress and settings in your own browser (local storage) and sends nothing to us except the visit counts described under Just visiting: when you start, clear or get stuck on a level, with the level number and, on a clear, how many moves it took.

Once Sorted is connected to your player (below), your progress will also be kept with your player if you’ve chosen a name or linked another device. Until then it stays in your browser only.

Your player (/player/)

Our games can remember you across devices without an email or password. Your browser makes a random key and keeps it; nothing reaches us until you choose a name or link another device.

Then we keep: the name you chose, your saved progress in each game, a scrambled (hashed) form of your browser’s key, and when you last played. When you enter a code to link a device, we keep a scrambled (keyed hash) form of your IP address for one minute, only to stop people guessing codes.

Your name shows on leaderboards when you join a live round. On /player/ you can rename, sign out your other devices, or delete everything straight away. If you lose every device you’ve linked, we can’t recover your player.

Email

Purelymail sends and receives our email, including support@ and everything a signup sends. Mail to support@ and contact@ is then kept in a helpdesk we run on our own server, so nothing gets missed; any AI help with replies also runs on our own computers, never an outside AI service. If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as it’s useful for helping you, and delete it on request.

New sign-ups

Anything new on this site that collects information gets its own section on this page before it goes live, and the date below changes.

Your choices

Ask us at support@hellisnotfull.com for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you’re in the UK or EU and unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to your data protection authority.
